We wanted to share some exciting news with you!!! THANKS to everyone that participated and sponsored our 1st Annual Upside Of Down Charity Golf Tournament in October, 2012, Upside Of Down was able to donate $14,000 to DSRTF (Down Syndrome Research and Treatment Foundation) on March 21st, which happens to be World Down Syndrome Day! All donations made to DSRTF on March 21st will be matched 3:1! So, all of your support at the 1st Annual Upside Of Down Charity Golf Tournament will result in a $42,000 donation toward Down syndrome research!!!! Thank you all so much - especially to Allie Jones McCann for helping to make this dream of raising more funds for research come true! The 1st Annual Upside Of Down Charity Golf Tournament was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!! You all helped us to net $14,000 that will go toward Down syndrome research via DSRTF (Down Syndrome Research and Treatment Foundation) and to provide summer camp scholarships to individuals with Down syndrome from lower income families! We had 144 golfers in the tournament, which is the max we could host!!! The golfers had a great time at River Place's award winning course! The After Party was extended to the golfers' families, friends and even the public! We had a great turnout! Everyone enjoyed some awesome BBQ, desserts, enjoyed Six Sons of a Gun band and all the great raffle prizes! We hope that you'll be a part of it next year if you weren't this year and of course, if you were a part of it, we hope to see you again next year!!! We're looking for golfers, both avid or amateur, to enjoy the experience of golfing at River Place Country Club's Private Golf Course, while supporting Upside Of Down! The results are in from the CLAW2 event that took place Thursday, April 19th!!! It was THE MOST entertainng event we have EVER been to!!! The enthusiasm and humor from the wrestlers, emcee and especially the referree, Boss Moss was just OVER THE TOP! CLAWstin, the Austin chapter of CLAW, raised $6,160 for Upside Of Down at their Arm Wrestling/Slapstick Comedy event!!!! These funds will go toward sponsoring individuals with Down syndrome from lower income families to summer camp and go toward continuing Down syndrome research!!! One of the things that they did was sell T-Shirts with the CLAWstin logo on it. They bought shirts at Goodwill and then had their logo imprinted on them. Check out this irony: I grabbed a shirt for Jeffrey to wear and it happened to be a Down Home Ranch 'Ranch Camp 2007' shirt!!!!!!!!!!! We've sent a lot of campers to Down Home Ranch in Elgin, TX, so that was so fitting!!! There's a picture below! Thank you so much to Beth, Jen and Amelia who produced another great event and for selecting Upside Of Down this year! Enjoy all the great pictures below! CLAW is an outrageous theatrical spectacle where regular women arm-wrestle each other in character w/ costumes, theme music, and entourages. The result is a cross between a burlesque show, a barroom brawl, and pro wrestling. A hundred percent of net proceeds go to the selected charity! The championship match between Pain Fonda and Spread Eagle...
.....and the winner is Pain Fonda!!
